The Johnston (Station) Historical Society is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to discovering, preserving and presenting the history of the Johnston, Iowa area. Consult your personal tax advisor for deductibility of donations in your specific tax situation

Annual operating costs of the 1902 Simpson House museum currently exceed $10,000. Your generosity will support operations and help make additional Johnston history content and events available.

If you are interested in history and community service, the Johnston Historical Society offers a variety of volunteer opportunities. Volunteers can help with maintaining and organizing historical archives, assisting during public events and tours, participating in educational programs, or helping with fundraising efforts. No experience needed—just enthusiasm for local history and a commitment to help.

The Johnston Historical Society does accept artifact contributions in keeping with our mission regarding the history of the area now known as Johnston, Iowa and its immediate vicinity.

Honorarium Gifts

Gifts in honor provide a meaningful, living tribute to a friend, relative, or colleague by commemorating a special occasion. Celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events with an in-honor gift to the Museum in tribute to that special person. Your contribution will be acknowledged with a letter sent to the honored individual or their family.

You can also remember a special person or express your sympathy with a memorial gift to the Museum. A memorial is a personal remembrance that honors a deceased friend, relative, or colleague. Your contribution will be acknowledged with a letter sent to the honoree’s family.
